On January 31st, the day after the president's first State of the Union address, The People's Climate Movement and its partner organizations, movement leaders and community organizers will gather in Washington D.C. to share strategies. We will tune in to watch livestream. The event will feature Senator Bernie Sanders, 350.org co-founder Bill McKibben, Rev. Lennox Yearwood from Hip Hop Caucus, Jacqueline Patterson from the NAACP, Cherri Foytlin from BOLD Louisiana, Adriana Voss-Andreae from 350PDX, Varshini Prakash from the Sunrise Movement, Jessica Lorena Rangel from Eyes of a Dreamer, and many more exciting speakers and performances.
We must unite to secure the lasting change needed on climate through effective local campaigns, including passing local resolutions. The last year has been painful, and at times, hope has been hard to find. But the tide is turning in 2018. If there’s one thing we know, it’s that together, we are powerful. Together, we can take on the elites driving climate change and their profit-driven destruction. Together we can build the world we need, with a fast and just transition to renewable energy for all.
