Event Details:
- Meet at the Downtown Pittsburgh City County Building at 12pm (noon)
- We’re asking everyone to wear black and red on strike day
- If you can, bring some signs!
Schedule:
- 11am: Before the strike begins, PA Interfaith Power & Light will hold a Peace Walk and Meditation starting at 11:00 AM from Trinity Cathedral, 328 Sixth Ave. and walking to the City County Building.
- 12pm: Everyone meets at City County Building, Speakers start
- 2pm: Striking & chants for solidarity
- Everyone will also have the chance to visit tabling organizations taking action against climate change
- 4pm: Strike ends

- Maria Isabel Villegas, 18, Oakland: A Tale of Two Category 5 Hurricanes, how climate change is affecting vulnerable global communities
- Gunner Bjornson, 13, Washington County: Lives in a community affected by fracking
- Benjamin Gutschow, 17, Squirrel Hill: “The injustice of climate change: A call for united action” Speech from a high schooler's perspective of the climate crisis, and why it’s so important that high school students strike.
- Elsie Ley, 9, Trafford Borough: Impacts to wildlife and demands of Gov. Wolf
- Aidan Graber, 11, Trafford Elementary, Westmoreland County: Our fight against new oil and gas development in our community.
- State Rep. Sara Innamorato
- Dr. Patricia Demarco, grandmother and environmental activist. The older generation's perspective of the crisis and passing the torch.
