For 77 years, Costa Rica has proven that a nation can flourish without an army by choosing to ground its
defense in public trust, education, and social care. This Zoom conversation explores what it actually feels like to live in a culture where national security is a philosophical choice rather than a display of force. Drawing on pivotal moments from Costa Rica’s history, we will look beyond abstract theory to share actionable insights for Americans striving to cultivate peace within their own communities. Join us to discover how a simple commitment to human well-being can reshape how we imagine safety and connection.
Ignacio Oreamuno is the founder of The Dreamcathers an adventure travel company based in NH and has been taking people on nature and spiritual journeys in Costa Rica and New Hampshire for many years. About NHPA’s bi-weekly Zoom Peace & Justice Conversation Series: 2020’s upheavals brought us to a new moment of reckoning and possibility. How do we want to live in the world? What do we value? How can we make the changes we’ve been yearning for? NH Peace Action has been engaged in working for change for decades. We’d like to bring you into these conversations about issues and options for the future. There is no charge to attend, but your contributions in any amount are greatly appreciated.
