Plastic
pollution is everywhere. It's clogging our landfills; killing sea-life;
and we breath and ingest it into our bodies after it erodes into
microplastics. Launched in January 2019, Beyond Plastics is a nationwide
project based at Bennington College in Bennington, Vermont, that pairs
the wisdom and experience of environmental policy experts with the
energy and creativity of college students to build a vibrant and
effective anti-plastics movement. Learn what communities like Bethlehem
can do to eliminate this menace to the environment and our health.
Judith Enck is the founder and Director of
Beyond Plastics. She is also a Senior Fellow and Visiting Faculty member
at Bennington College, where she teaches classes on plastic pollution,
and can be heard regularly on WAMC. She previously served as the
Regional Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
