Press Conference: "Fighting for a Georgia Living Wage"
Start: Wednesday, March 12, 2025•12:00 PM
End: Wednesday, March 12, 2025•01:00 PM
Join us to demand higher wages in Georgia!
State Representative Gabriel Sanchez (D-Smyrna), State Representative Dewey McClain (D-Lawrenceville), State Representative Anissa Jones (D-Macon), State Representative El-Mahdi Holly (D-Stockbridge), and State Representative Derrick Jackson (D-Tyrone) will be joined by members of the House Democratic Caucus, partner organizations, and unions to present six House Bills related to raising the minimum wage in Georgia. The press conference will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 12:00pm at the South Wing Steps of the Georgia State Capitol.
Over many decades, productivity in our state has risen while our wages have remained stagnant. The current federal minimum wage is $7.25 per hour, while Georgia’s current minimum wage is $5.15 per hour, which does nothing to address the high costs of housing, childcare, or the increased price of groceries that families are facing in our state.
Come join us Wednesday 3/12 at 12:00 PM on the South Steps of the Georgia State Capitol (second floor) and DEMAND House Republicans raise workers’ wages!
