Protect Our Right to Strike! Rally Against Bill C-39

Thursday, October 15, 2026 | 5:00 PM

Location: Pickering MP's Constituency Office

This affects ALL of us. Whether you're a union member or not, workers' rights are everyone's rights.

The federal government's proposed Bill C-39 would expand the government's ability to intervene in legal strikes and impose binding arbitration, weakening workers' bargaining power.

The right to strike is a fundamental part of collective bargaining. It's how workers have fought for better wages, safer workplaces, benefits, and working conditions that many Canadians rely on today.

And this doesn't stop at federally regulated workplaces. We have already seen the Ford government in Ontario use legislation to intervene in labour disputes. This could have a trickledown effect if we don't FIGHT BACK. There are serious concerns about what further restrictions on workers' rights could mean for workers across the country.

When governments weaken the right to strike, they weaken the bargaining power of working people everywhere.

This is bigger than one union, one workplace, or one piece of legislation. It's about protecting the rights that generations of workers fought to secure.

Join us on October 15 in Pickering to raise awareness about Bill C-39, stand in solidarity with workers, and defend the right to strike.

An injury to one is an injury to all!
