Protest Safety Training - June 4th, 6pm at Othello Commons

With the escalation of ICE violence and the increasingly egregious attacks on immigrants, protestors, and bystanders across the country, we recognize that non-violent resistance can lead to unpredictable and scary situations. But there are things we can do to be ready. So join us for a workshop on how to mentally and physically prepare for street protesting in these times.

We’ll cover the following:

✔️What to expect
✔️ What to bring (and what not to bring)
✔️ How to stay safe in crowds, around police, and around escalations
✔️ How to navigate encounters with military and ICE agents
✔️How to invoke your rights
✔️How to use mutual aid and buddy systems
✔️How to contribute to crowd calm and rumor control

Whether it’s your first protest or your umpteenth, we invite you to come get grounded in what it means to keep yourself and your community safe in this moment! We will provide food, and spots will be limited, so please RSVP and cancel if you can no longer make it!
