Please join Friends of Chesterfield, Sierra Club-Virginia Chapter and Chesapeake Climate Action Network (CCAN) as we rally against the Dominion Energy-NextERA Merger. This massive merger is only about money. More money for Dominion and NextERA and higher electric bills for us at the expense of our air, water, climate and communities. We'll be demonstrating outside a conference where utility, fossil fuel and data center executives are gathering to discuss the merger and opportunities for building new gas plants and pipelines to service the data center industry. Against Dominion Energy-NextERA Merger
WHAT: Make History! This will be the first Public Demonstration Against the Dominion Energy-NextERA Merger - This is a visibility event. We will line the public sidewalk on Broad Street at the Hilton in Short Pump with signs and banners, highly visible to the public during rush hour and to the utility and gas industry representatives as they drive by to attend the Virginia (Dirty) Energy Summit Bring your own signs and banners or use ours opposing the merger or any of the dirty energy projects slated for Virginia. Signs promoting renewable energy and protection of ratepayers and our environment are welcome as well.
WHEN: Tuesday, June 16th, 8 AM to 9 AM. Stop by on your way to work! We'll have donuts!

WHY: This merger is only about money. More money for Dominion and NextERA and higher electric bills for us at the expense of our air, water, climate and communities. The electric utilities, gas and data center industries are putting profits over people and our communities. Defeating this massive merger is the best way to get their attention and to change business as usual. This Dirty Energy Summit is organized by the Virginia Manufacturers Association, a major opponent of renewable energy and an influential supporter of fossil gas policy and projects.
