Stand in solidarity with RPS workers at a rally prior to the School Board meeting on Monday, October 6th, 2025 at 5pm at the 9th Street Entrance to City Hall to call on the School Board to vote no on the proposed changes to the Collective Bargaining Resolution.

Superintendent Kamras is attempting to unilaterally weaken workers’ rights. The Administration wants to rush policy that would create labor law that is weaker than the federal labor law that Trump recently gutted. After decades of reactionary assaults on workers and further assaults under the Trump administration, it would be dangerous for local governments to compound these attacks. Included in the superintendent’s changes would be:

  • The censorship of teacher and worker free speech;

  • A weakening of process for hearing worker grievances;

  • Trigger mechanisms that would cut employee pay without proper negotiation;

  • A reduction in the scope of what workers are allowed to bargain for in their contracts;

  • Weakening mediation processes so that the employer gets an unfair advantage;

  • A limitation of worksite access for building and unit representatives.

The superintendent’s conduct thus far has made his intentions clear: to force these changes through as quickly as possible in order to hide the changes from the general public.

Members of the press, the public, community groups, and elected officials are all encouraged to attend.
