Background

On May 24th, Travelers Insurance will hold their annual shareholder meeting here in Hartford.

This year, investors will vote on shareholder resolutions calling on the insurance company to:

1. phase out underwriting of new fossil fuel projects,

2. to align its underwriting and investments portfolio 1.5ºC,

3. conduct a racial equity audit that incorporates considerations of Free, Prior, and Informed Consent

Travelers is one of the top 3 oil and gas insurers in the world and must be held accountable for their role in the climate crisis.
