Rally for Housing at MLK Library

Start: Saturday, March 21, 202611:00 AM

Location: Martin Luther King Jr. Library - G St Entrance 901 G St NW, Washington, DC 20010 US

On Tuesday, the Office of Planning (OP) released the draft Future Land Use Map (FLUM), part of the Comprehensive Plan, which will guide zoning decisions in the District through 2050.

The draft is a huge disappointment. It allows only very small changes to current zoning. It will encourage displacement, raise the cost of housing, and lock in land use patterns that encourage car use and raise carbon emissions. The map also prevents new homes from being built in DC’s high-opportunity, exclusionary neighborhoods, reinforcing the racist histories that created them.

We're fighting back. On Saturday at 11:00, OP is hosting an in‑person workshop to take feedback on the FLUM and Comprehensive Plan. We're hosting a Rally for Housing at the start of the event and inviting our elected leaders and candidates to stand up for more homes.

Join us for this event and show DC's leaders we're serious about lowering housing costs, preventing displacement, and building an environmentally sustainable city!
