All eyes will be on Texas this September as the Republicans host an unprecedented midterm national convention. Dallas wants to make sure the country and the world see the truth: we do not want the Trump agenda.

We will be outside the convention to make our opposition clear. We will not allow the Republican Party to come to Dallas and quietly pretend that its policies are popular, accepted or justified.

Hold Trump responsible

We will be outside this convention to hold Trump responsible for the ICE murders of people like Lorenzo Salgado Araujo in Houston.

We will hold Trump responsible for the police murders of people like the unarmed teenager shot down in Austin.

We will hold him responsible for the families torn apart, for the wars that rob our pocketbooks to kill innocent people around the globe, for the attacks on teachers, and on and on.

Reject the Trump agenda

These policies hurt working people, immigrant families, teachers, students and communities in Texas and across the country.

We will not allow this convention to quietly maintain the lie that these policies are popular or justified.

Why is this on a weekday?

The Republican Convention is taking place during the week, so we need people in the streets while delegates, politicians, media and organizers are gathered at American Airlines Center.

The rally begins at 1:00 p.m. on a Thursday. If you need time away from work, submit your PTO request as far in advance as possible. Do not wait until the last minute.

Make arrangements with your employer, coworkers, family members or anyone else who may need advance notice. Give yourself enough time to travel, arrive early and be ready before the rally begins.

Yes. Victory Station is directly in front of American Airlines Center, making DART one of the easiest ways to reach the rally. Attendees should use the DART GoPass app or check current DART schedules before leaving home. Allow extra travel time because trains may be crowded during the convention.

Will parking be available near the rally?

Parking near American Airlines Center may be limited because of the Republican Convention and other activity in the area. Nearby lots and garages will likely charge for parking, so attendees should not expect to find free parking.

Consider taking DART, carpooling or using a rideshare service. Anyone driving should arrive early, expect traffic and be prepared to pay for parking.

What should people bring to the rally?

Bring signs, energy, comfortable shoes and plenty of water. September afternoons in Dallas will likely still be warm, so wear appropriate clothing and consider bringing sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses.
