Join us for the Petitioning Kick-Off Rally to support the re-election of the People's Republic of Astoria with Assembly Member Zohran Mamdani, Senator Kristen Gonzalez, and Team AOC. The event will take place on March 2nd at 2 PM.

After the rally, we will collect signatures from 3-5 PM on our joint petition to have our elected officials back on the ballot for 2024. The event will end with a post-petitioning social.

All skill levels are welcome to participate! We will work in a buddy system, and a brief training will be held before collecting signatures. If you are a first-timer or just getting started with canvassing, we always work in groups to knock on the doors of registered Democrats.

Preparation:

  • Please wear comfortable shoes and a mask and bring a water bottle.

Collecting signatures:

  • You must be a registered Democrat in New York State to gather signatures.
  • You can check your voter registration status at https://voterlookup.elections.ny.gov/.
  • If you are not registered to vote, you can still volunteer during petitioning but not sign or witness ballot petitions. We will assign you other volunteer tasks. All are welcome to participate, and we look forward to seeing you there.
