Rally to Pass the Kids Online Safety Act

Start: Tuesday, December 10, 202410:15 AM

The Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) has reached its final hurdle. After a landslide vote in the Senate and a voice vote in the House Energy & Commerce Committee, the bill now needs to pass through the House by December 20 to reach President Biden’s desk before the end of the year.

This is our last chance to pass meaningful legislation to hold Big Tech accountable, protect kids online, and prevent further harm to families.

To demonstrate the urgency of this moment, Accountable Tech, Design It For Us, Fairplay, ParentsTogether Action, Tech Oversight Project, Eating Disorders Coalition, SAVE, Common Sense Media, and our allies are hosting a powerful rally on Capitol Hill to honor lives lost to social media harm and elevate the voices of young people and parents directly impacted.

Due to the nature of the rally happening after the hearing, the timing of the event may change. Please look to the email you used when submitting your RSVP to stay up to date on any adjusted timings or location.

Location: Southeast Lawn of the Capitol, Corner of Independence Ave SE and First Ave.

Please Note: The most accessible metro station is Capitol South Station, on the Orange, Blue and Silver Lines.

Dress: Due to the rally being outside, please dress appropriately for the weather, including cold temperatures.

Public Area: Please note that there are no easily accessible public restrooms nearby. Closest restrooms are in the Capitol Visitors Center, which requires going through airport-like security.

Contact: For any questions prior to the event, please contact info@accountabletech.org.
