Re-imagining Policing in Delaware: Reforming the Law Enforcement Officers Bill of Rights

Start: Wednesday, May 11, 2022 6:00 PM

End: Wednesday, May 11, 2022 7:30 PM

For years community advocates have been working tirelessly to reform Delaware’s Law Enforcement Officers Bill of Rights (LEOBOR). For even longer Black and brown communities have suffered from police violence.

Police transparency and accountability are impossible without changing LEOBOR. Senate Bill 149 offered Delaware an opportunity for real justice. But recent changes to SB149 watered down the bill so much that advocates couldn’t support.

Now we are left with the question, how can we reimagine policing in Delaware? What are our next steps for reforming LEOBOR?

On May 11th at 6:00-7:30pm please join us for the community event, Re-imagining Policing in Delaware: Reforming the Law Enforcement Officers Bill of Rights. We’ll tackle these questions as a community and hear from advocates on how the fight for police reform in Delaware is progressing and how residents can participate.

This event will be livestreamed on Facebook @fairpolicing and held in person at the Route 9 Library and Innovation Center at 3022 New Castle Ave, New Castle, DE 19720.
