For decades, the people of Woonsocket have been left behind by the leaders we elected to serve us. Our community is struggling, and it’s hard to deny the things our families need - quality affordable housing, fully-funded schools, healthy and accessible food, good-paying jobs in a vibrant local economy, a green and sustainable future, a government that truly represents us, and transformative policies to undo centuries of systemic racism. But well-connected politicians would rather focus on corporate handouts and petty personal feuds than on the lives of the people they represent.

Our city can be so much more.

If our local and state politicians won’t fight for us, it’s time we come together, build community power, and fight for ourselves. And that's why we founded Rebuild Woonsocket.

Our plan is simple: we have to work toward a more equitable, just, and vibrant community and the livability of our shared future. We are going to do that by registering voters, re-engaging community members whose voices have been suppressed, public outreach and education on what - and who - is to blame for our problems, fighting for transformative policies to rebuild our city, and organizing protests to pressure our leaders to act.

On May 26th, we will launch an unprecedented effort to mobilize the community and rebuild Woonsocket. Will you join us in this fight?
