Reclaim Our Vote-East Bay Info Session & Fundraiser

Start: Friday, September 27, 201906:00 PM

Join us for a presentation by Reclaim Our Vote’s Founder and Director, Andrea Miller – the force behind the ROV Campaign (a project of the Center for Common Ground, a 501(c)(3) organization).  Andrea will offer an overview of the voter-suppression landscape in the United States in 2019, and talk about campaign plans for the next year to contact millions of voters of color.

RECLAIM OUR VOTE is a volunteer-driven, nonpartisan voter outreach campaign to fight voter suppression, (re)register voters, and turn out the vote.  ROV works with the NAACP, Black Voters Matter, the Virginia Poor People’s Campaign, Mi Familia Vota and others. Light refreshments provided. We wish to thank our co-sponsor, the Epworth United Methodist Church.

The impact of a tax-deductible contribution:

  • $50 supports 100 post cards and stamps
  • $100 supports 300 phone calls by low-income African American senior women in Virginia
  • $200 supports up to 20 one-minute GOTV ads on rural black radio stations
  • $500 supports texting 6,250 voters of color for GOTV for the Nov. 5th election in Virginia

No one is turned away due to lack of funds. Street parking is available; carpooling is encouraged. Or take the AC Transit 18 or 79 bus; the 18 bus also serves the Downtown Berkeley BART Station.
