End: Tuesday, September 25, 2018•09:00 PM

Need to register to vote? Worried you are running out of time? Can’t get to the county clerk’s office during business hours? Want to apply for an absentee ballot? If so, here’s your opportunity!
You don’t need to be a resident of Lyon Township to register at this event, but you do need to be a Michigan resident, a US citizen, and 18 years of age by election day. The deadline to apply for an absentee ballot is Nov 3.
At this event, you will be able to:
* Register to Vote – your registration will be turned into the Lyon Township Clerk’s Office and then sent to the appropriate clerk for registration. You will receive your voter identification card in the mail in a few weeks, but it is not required for voting. You may check your registration status at the MI Sec. of State website to verify your registration.
* Complete an application for an absentee ballot for the November 6 general election. Please note, if you are a first-time voter, you will need to either vote in person (with your ID), OR take your photo ID to a clerk’s office or a Secretary of State office prior to the election, before requesting an absentee ballot.
* Pick up written information about voting and the ballot
Please bring your driver’s license, Michigan State ID card, or the last 4 digits of your social security number.
If you are already registered but have questions about voting, you may find the website www.vote411.orghelpful. The League of Women Voters website answers multitudes of questions about voting. Other websites that may be helpful are the Michigan Secretary of State site, www.michigan.gov/sos and the Michigan Voter Information Center, www.michigan.gov/vote.
This is a drop-in event.
