Residential Training for SU Officers & Staff (now at capacity - sign up to join waiting list)
Start: Tuesday, August 08, 2023• 9:00 AM
Following on from the Student Unions and Community Organising Learning Thursday event in March this year, we are offering a two-day Residential training for SU sabbatical officers and staff. The training will be of interest to any Student Union that wants to learn how to use community organising to develop students leaders, and work with local civil society organisations - schools, churches, mosques, trade unions etc. – to secure change in their campus, town, city and region.
The training will be structured to fit into Sabbatical Officer Induction programmes and support permanent staff to make plans for the coming academic year. We will introduce you to the fundamental concepts of community organising such as self-interest, leadership and relational power in SU-specific ways, and it will be delivered by our Higher Education team. It is designed to support SUs considering membership of our civic alliances and it will explore how this can be done sustainably, maximising their local and regional impact.
This form is to express interest only - we will be in touch to confirm details.
Cost per delegate is £310 - this includes accommodation and food.
