#ResistTrumpTuesdays: Tell Disney to Leave Trump's Economic Advisory Council

Start: Tuesday, February 14, 201706:00 PM

End: Tuesday, February 14, 201708:00 PM

From Snow White to Star Wars, Disney has always prided itself on sharing stories of good prevailing in the face of evil.

That's why when Disney agreed implement Trump's policies by joining his Economic Advisory Council, we decided that there is no better day than Valentine's Day to ask Disney if they love the refugees, immigrants, and working people that have been put in danger by Trump's cabinet.

We're not feeling the love tonight, Disney. We're meeting at Bryant Park and marching up to Disney owned businesses to tell them to leave the Council.

The Economic Advisory Council doesn't just provide economic policy advice to the president -- it also figures out and pushes through programs and policies consistent with the President’s economic goals. That includes figuring out how to successfully fund Trump's "wall," and other expensive programs that threaten immigrants, refugees, and working folks. By serving on Trump's business council, Bob Iger (Disney's chief executive) enables the administration that is trying to take away the freedom and progress that we have worked to achieve.

Bob Iger has come out saying, "I firmly believe, that we cannot shut our borders to immigrants," but the advisory council's job isn't to tell the president their political opinion, it's only how the President can implement their policies. That means even if they're against Trump's immigration policies, Disney will have a hand in figuring out how to fund them.

Disney movies always have one consistent message: regardless of where you come from or what you look like, love always wins. This Valentine's Day, we're coming out to ask Disney if their values are consistent with their movies, and if everyone really is part of their world.

We saw it work with Uber -- chief executives are getting caught between a vengeful White House and customers ready to vote with their wallets. Let's tell Bob Iger and Disney that either he goes, or we do.

Meet us at the 6th Avenue and 42nd Street side of park at 6pm, and bring all Disney related signs and slogans to let Disney know love is an open door
