#RiseforClimate London

Start: Saturday, September 08, 2018 2:30 PM

Did you feel the heat? This summer climate change hit hard, a widespread heatwave bringing devastating heat, wildfires and extreme weather events like floods to many places. The NHS saw the highest number of A&E attendances in July since records began.

On September 8, thousands of rallies will be held in cities and towns around the world to demand leaders commit to building a fossil free world that works for all of us.

Join us in London where we'll come together for a visual demonstration of the call for urgent action on climate change, to pledge action and to spread the word about actions we can all take.
Sign up now to get all the updates on this action.

Can you lend a hand? Join the banner making day Saturday 1st September (details will be sent when confirmed). If you are unable to attend on the 1st, we are also looking for help on the 8th. We would appreciate any assistance with crowd control, photography and mobile video filming. If there's another way you would like to contribute, please get in touch.

Rising up for climate means making our voices heard on climate change. We can all take personal actions which are a starting point for many of us (e.g. switching your bank account, cycling to work, cutting energy use); when we join together these become powerful (e.g. calling for local authorities to divest from fossil fuels, campaigning for decent cycling infrastructure, joining together to lobby your MPs on energy and climate policy).

If you need more inspiration after Rise for Climate, get in touch with UK climate campaigners:

  • Climate Reality is a diverse group of passionate activities, community leaders, organisers, scientists, storytellers and everyday people who’ve come together to encourage climate action and facilitate climate conversations.
  • Campaign against Climate Change is a national campaign for urgent climate action.
  • Fossil Free UK can help you call for your local authority to divest from fracking and other fossil fuels.
