DRESS FOR THE WEATHER

With the Endangered Species Coalition's sponsorship, the Rock Creek Songbirds project has planted more than 1,000 native trees, grasses, and wildflowers in the Piney Branch valley of Rock Creek Park, to improve habitat for migratory songbirds, including D.C.'s official bird, the wood thrush. The collaborative effort engages students and the community in environmental restoration and has improved recreational facilities to make Piney Branch more welcoming.
