Let's Unify to Dilley
Join a Texas-wide caravan on April 18th to stand in solidarity with families and children being held at the Dilley Detention Center.
Right now, children and families at Dilley are facing undrinkable water, rotten food, lack of medical care, and long-term detention far beyond legal limits. This is our chance to show up, build public pressure, and demand: Shut Down Dilley. End Family Detention. Release our kids and families by Mother’s Day!
We’ll gather at local meet-up points across the state and drive together, aiming to arrive at Dilley by 12PM CT.
Meet us here: 1400 W. Villaret Blvd. Lot #1 in front of the Palomino Center. Will will be there by 9:00 am and will depart at 10:30 am. Come early so you can decorate your cars to stand in solidarity with the other caravans joining us at Dilly
Captain / Contact: Caravan Captains Cheryl Gonzales/ Project Unidad (210)346-7351 and Rebecca Flores/ Bexar County Democrats (210)842-9502
What to Bring: Water and snacks, sunscreen, umbrella (for sun or rain!), closed toed shoes (there are ants!), signs, whistles/percussion instruments
Parking: there is no parking lot at Dilley, but you can park along the side of the road. Just be sure to park far enough from the road to safely exit your vehicle.
