Join fellow SAWC members online on March 11 in a discussion with Maurice Carney from Friends of the Congo. A presentation will be followed by plenty of time for discussion. War in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has escalated, demanding greater understanding on our part, about the history of colonialism, mining, and exploitation in the Congo and the role of Europe and the U.S., from rubber to uranium to rare earths for batteries. We'll look at the complicity of Washington state-based corporations like The Boeing Company and Amazon - and what actions we can take to make an impact.
