SB 1123 is a new California housing law aimed at making it easier to build small, multi-unit homes on land previously limited to single-family housing. As cities work to meet their state housing goals, this law plays a key role in how zoning must change and how projects are approved.

Join Jacob (Jake) Pierce, AHLA Housing Elements Analyst, for a deep dive into what SB 1123 requires and what implementation looks like in Los Angeles. This session will also cover the relationship between SB 1123 and SB 684, explaining how these two laws work in tandem to unlock "missing middle" housing—like townhomes and bungalow courts—across our neighborhoods.
