Give. Take. Learn. Share. Swap. Taste. Chat.

Seeds. Clothes. Seed Heritage workshop. Books. Jam & preserves and their recipes. Seedlings.

Bring what you don't need. Take what you'll use. This event is free and doesn't require you to bring anything (though if you plan in advance, there may be things you can bring). We would love you to drop things off in advance on Saturdays between 10 and 11am, or email chocoholic.leicester@gmail.com to arrange a drop-off.

Climate Action L+L, Community Harvest Whetstone, the Heritage Seed Library, and the Neve Shalom Synagogue are jointly running an exciting and lovely afternoon of swapping and more. Please fill in this form and join us - you could just show up on the day, but organising will be much easier for us if you take two mins and fill it in.

  • Seeds work best when they are fresh, but we rarely need all the ones in the packet in a year - so why not share them?
  • Your clothes no longer work for you? Give them to other people. (Clean and in good repair please.)
  • Want to read something different? Bring your old books and see what other people have brought to swap.
  • Have a favourite jam / pickle / chutney / preserve recipe which you make with local produce? Bring a jar for people to taste and the recipe to share. Please only bring vegan/plant based foods (no dairy, eggs, fish or meat ingredients please).
  • Have you grown more seedlings than you need? Come and swap them for something you haven't tried growing.

The Heritage Seed Library workshop will run from 3-4.15pm. It will:

  • Talk about how to save your own seeds - and which are easy to save.
  • Sowing your Seeds project in the Midlands: learn about our seed search in the Midlands and the stories behind people growing them."
  • Include a seed sowing activity.
