Join the Pittsburgh DSA for an intro lesson on self-defense 101! In a culture where violence is continually normalized, it is important to know how to de-escalate situations and protect yourself.

We will be learning with DSA member and self-defense instructor Cal. He is a third degree black belt in American style Karate.

This event is free to everyone. No materials are necessary, but it is suggested to wear comfortable clothing and shoes. We will provided water and light snacks.

We will be meeting at Westinghouse Park in Point Breeze. A few buses drop off at Penn Ave, just a few blocks away, but we will also try to connect folks who need a ride with folks who can give a ride if possible. Street parking around the park is free and plentiful.

If the weather is looking like more than a slight drizzle, we will reschedule for a rain date. We would let folks know the evening before or the morning of the event if we are cancelling. (Rain date TBD).
