Welcome to NoVA DSA’s Fiber Arts group!

This group aims to promote, celebrate, and build community around the fiber arts, including knitting, crocheting, sewing, embroidering, felting, and needle-punching. This group is a way for members to develop fiber skills, mitigate burnout, and connect organizers who normally work in different realms.

Overall, we believe having a fiber arts community strengthens our bonds as organizers and community members while curating a low-barrier space where organizers can exchange ideas and be creative.

We are knitting/crocheting things (hats, blankets, etc) to donate!

Everyone is encouraged to bring their current projects. If you don't have a current project, crochet plastic yarn for mats with us! Extra supplies are provided, but please bring lots of clean plastic bags to be upcycled.

This month, we will have supplies for making small crafts with felt, such as patches.

Please bring any items to be donated and/or for fundraising (finished hats, blankets, socks, hygiene items, non-perishable food, etc) for the next NoVA Mutual Aid WG distribution event.

We are kid friendly! (We will have coloring supplies)

Free EC 4 DC kits! The Bodily Autonomy Working Group, in partnership with EC 4 DC, will provide reproductive and sexual health care kits at this event. These kits are free, and include a dose of Plan B, pregnancy tests & cup, condoms, and an informational zine. Please note you may take as many kits as you wish. This is first come, first served.

People interested in getting involved with NoVA MAWG are encouraged to fill out our interest form here.

You can donate to our distribution here or buy directly from our wish list. We will also be accepting donations at the distribution, so feel free to bring any packaged food, water, hygienic supplies, clothes, etc. that you'd like to donate.
