Come join the NYC chapter of Science for the People as we launch the latest issue of Science for the People Magazine, "Ways of Knowing." In this issue, the authors examine diverse epistemologies outside the bounds of Western science. The issue discusses how Indigenous cultural practices and forms of knowledge production were and are being erased by colonialism, and how this knowledge can be recovered, preserved, and expanded upon by communities and social movements engaged in anticolonial resistance.

The event will be hosted in the main room of DSK Brooklyn. For those who have attended magazine launch events with us in the past, this is a different room than the room we've used previously, which is temporarily closed. For this event, we will be making use of a semi-private space to host a reading group-style discussion of several excerpts from the issue. The event begins at 7pm and as usual you are welcome to stick around after the program ends and hang out with us for as long as you like.
