You shouldn't have to be rich to run for office and represent your community. We believe in doing campaigns differently and getting money out of politics, and here's where that can start: signature-gathering to waive the filing fee.

The fee to file our campaign in May is about $700. The vast majority of campaigns just pay the fee. But in Washington state, we're given the option of turning in an equivalent number of signatures from people who live in our district instead. That means: if we turn in 700 signatures from constituents of the 43rd district, we can waive the filing fee.

So we're signature-gathering to connect with people in our community and to ask for their help getting our campaign on the ballot. We believe in people power and know that organized people beat organized money every time. Let's show the establishment what that looks like.
