Who should attend:
  1. Organizers who want new ideas for working with volunteers, whether paid or unpaid.
  2. Organizers who want to share what they've learned about working with volunteers.

We will discuss the why and how of the following topics, aiming to be as granular and specific as possible:

  1. Recruitment or absorption: getting volunteers in the door
  2. Training and development: giving volunteers the skills they need and opportunities to grow and take on leadership
  3. Payment: ways to set clear expectations about paid versus unpaid volunteer work
  4. Structure: how volunteers fit within your organization and understand their roles
This training will include some presentation from the DemHUBS team, but our goal is to hold space for you to share your ideas, ask questions, and think critically about how to structure an effective civic engagement and base building program.
