This year at city convention, NYC-DSA passed the resolution Socialism is the People, a new branch-based initiative aimed at building deep relationships with local multiracial institutions and their members. Branches are encouraged to launch Community Solidarity Committees, which will work to map the community-based organizations in our neighborhoods, build relationships with them, and work collaboratively to find ways to partner.

This citywide convening will bring together new CSCs and members interested in getting involved in community partnership building work across the branches. We’ll dig into the base building vision of the project, explore examples of community solidarity efforts in our neighborhoods, and share best practices for launching and moving the work in each branch. If you’re ready to build with your neighbors and want ideas and support on where to start, this meeting is for you!
