Join fellow Maine DSA members for a day of regional solidarity to help the nationally endorsed and Boston DSA member Willie Burnley Jr. be elected Mayor of Somerville! If you've never canvassed before, don't worry! Boston DSA will have a canvass training at the beginning of the event for those who need a refresher. Here's why we're going to support Willie:

We're walking and talking to our neighbors, sharing our vision for a Somerville that is affordable, accountable, and accessible for all. Unlike our opponents, we don't take money from for-profit developers and don't own multiple homes. We will elect a renter mayor that fights for housing affordability, increased investment in City services, and creating a community where arts, education, and diversity are truly valued.

Carpooling and Transit

Most Maine DSA members plan on carpooling to the canvass. Carpooling will be coordinated based on the RSVP responses. If you plan on carpooling, please RSVP more than 24 hours in advance of the canvas so we can coordinate with you.

The Amtrak Downeaster or Concord Coach are also available, and we can pickup-dropoff as needed.

Rough Agenda

• Between 8:00-12:00 - Maine DSA members start driving to Somerville.
• 1:00p - Meet together in Somerville at the canvas location, receive a short training, and start canvassing. The exact meeting spot will be added closer to the day-of. Please download the minivan app, if you haven't already, so that you will be prepared to knock on doors.
• 4:00p - Finish canvassing and optionally attend a post-canvass social with Boston DSA
• 6:00p - Depart Somerville, back to Maine!
