Maine Healthcare Action's statewide ballot initiative for universal single payer healthcare was one of the most exciting campaigns in the healthcare justice movement this year.

The Maine campaign was an incredible effort - Maine Healthcare Action had an office and multiple paid staffers and was able to gather tens of thousands of signatures to get on the ballot.

Unfortunately, the board of directors made the decision to suspend the campaign just weeks before the signature deadline.

Medicare for All EVERYWHERE is a solidarity based organization that actively supported the campaign in Maine including organizing a trip to Portland earlier this year where our volunteers collected hundreds of signatures for the effort.

We are proud to stand strong with the Maine organizers and bring forward this solidarity meeting & retrospective where we can have a frank discussion about where this suspension leaves the healthcare movement both in Maine and across the rest of the country.
