Song workshop - singing for peace
Start: Thursday, April 03, 2025•07:00 PM
End: Thursday, April 03, 2025•09:30 PM
What?
A singing workshop in which you will learn songs on the theme of peace. It's free (though donations are welcome), and no musical experience is necessary - just bring your voice!
The workshop will be led by our musical director, Jake Alexander.
Why?
Singing is a great way to feel solidarity with like-minded individuals, and also a great way to get messages across to others who might be unaware of the issues that you care about. If you go to marches or other demonstrations, you might have seen groups singing to the protestors - why not join in!
Time:
We will start the workshop at 7.30pm, though the hall will be open from 7pm and you are very welcome to come early for some light refreshments and to meet some of the choir.
The Choir:
Raised Voices is a political choir based in central London. Our songs are for justice, peace, climate, refugees, Palestine, women's rights and more, and against racism and any kind of discrimination. We sing on demonstrations and other public events, as well as for our own enjoyment.
In this workshop we will be focussing on some songs about peace, and we hope that you'll enjoy learning them with us!
