Climate change isn't going to avert itself. We know what it's going to take: dramatic and immediate action. Looking at history, we know that change like that takes mass movements, so we're building one. That means training a generation of activists to fight for our future. There are four summits around the United States, and if you live in the South, this is the one for you. So if you're looking to step up and join the movement, now is the perfect chance.

-----------------------SUMMIT OVERVIEW--------------------------

On September 28th-30th, hundreds of Sunrisers from across the South and other parts of the country are going to gather in Nashville for one of Sunrise’s four regional Summits. The summit will be an opportunity to meet other hub members from around the region and build community across the movement. Attendees will be trained in Sunrise’s DNA as well as attend specialized breakout trainings on communications strategy, action planning, fundraising, building partnerships, and other core skills to build out powerful hubs. Friday, Sep 27th: Check in and housing starts at 8pm!

Saturday, Sep 28th: Day 1 of the Summit from 9am - 8pm

Sunday, Sep 29th: Day 2 of the Summit from 9am - 6 pm. Action training this evening.

Monday, Sep 9th: Action from 9 am - 3pm

-----------------------WHO IS THIS FOR?-----------------------------

- YOUNG PEOPLE (AGES 13-35) looking for a meaningful way to protect our homes and the people we love from the climate crisis. We value the support and participation of our adults and elders, but this Summit is for developing the leadership skills of our young people in the movement. For individuals over the age of 35, there are other ways to get involved like joining your local hub or donating what you can.

- We believe it’s important that the people we invest leadership training in reflect the movement we want to build-- a young, multi-racial movement that represents many different backgrounds. We especially want to invest in leaders who have historically been left out of the political process including people of color and working-class people.
