Spaces of Exception (2019) is an American Indian and Palestinian focused documentary shot over the course of four years in Arizona, New Mexico, New York, and South Dakota, as well as in Lebanon and the West Bank. The film investigates and juxtaposes the struggles, communities, and spaces of the American Indian reservation and the Palestinian refugee camp. Directed by Matt Peterson and Malek Rasamny, Spaces of Exception attempts to understand the significance of the land—its memory and divisions—and the conditions for life, community, and sovereignty.
Snacks will be served. This is a sober event and masks are required to be worn, except when eating or drinking. Masks will also be provided at the door.
We are also asking for a $10 donation at the door, but nobody will be turned away for lack of funds. The donations will go directly to the filmmakers to help pay for their labor in making this film in challenging conditions.
