Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Climate Change
The Climate Educator Series is here to educate current and future generations about climate change. Join us and learn about the science behind it, its impact on our planet, and what we can do to help. Perfect for teachers, parents, and anyone who wants to make a difference. Sponsors so far include Fridays for Future USA Northern Arizona Climate Change Alliance, Climate Elders of Arizona, and Prescott College.
In this presentation, we reshape climate action from a technical effort to cut emissions into an approach that addresses human rights and social inequality. To quote Katrin Jakobsdottier, the prime minister of Iceland, on the world’s melting glaciers, “In all our actions against climate change, we need to fight for climate justice. Human rights, social justice, and gender equality are intrinsically connected to the fight because climate change affects the poor more than the rich, the underprivileged more than the privileged, and women differently than men.” We examine equity, human rights, collective rights, and the historical responsibilities for climate change and assess impacts in our communities.
