We are hosting a special chapter assembly meeting to consider a set of statewide ballot measure campaigns that the Electoral Working Group have unanimously voted to bring to the full chapter membership for an official endorsement vote.

We will be discussing and debating:

1. California Billionaire Tax - Spearheaded by the SEIU this one time emergency tax of 5% for billionaires would offset catastrophic healthcare cuts caused by the "Big Beautiful Bill (HR1)."
2. California Children’s Education and Health Care Protection Act of 2026 (Prop 55 Extension) - Spearheaded by a coalition of Educators' unions, this measure would make a temporary income tax levied on the top 2% of income earners to fund education in 2016, permanent.

Per our chapter bylaws:
Endorsement of a candidate must be passed by a three fifths majority—or 60%—of those voting in a General Assembly meeting and/or via online voting.
