Springfield Call 2ACTion Unity Rally
Start: Saturday, January 21, 2017• 1:00 PM
End: Saturday, January 21, 2017• 2:00 PM
On January 21, 2017, at 1:00 pm, Springfield Call 2 Action is sponsoring a rally at the Old State Capital Plaza. We will stand in solidarity with women and men who are rallying in the historic Women's March on Washington, D.C. and we will highlight Springfield issues and organizations that help people who are affected by the changing national landscape.
A list of speakers and participating organizations will be available soon. If your organization would like to be part of the rally, please leave a message for us here on FB.
Coalition members currently include advocates for justice for women, racial minorities, LGBTQ persons, religious minorities, retired persons, students and educators, civil rights, labor, and the environment. We plan to include other groups.
Springfield Call 2 Action was formed by community leaders in the aftermath of the 2016 elections, to address social, economic, religious, environmental, gender, race, sexual orientation, and civil rights issues that people are facing as a result of the changing national landscape. Working together, our primary goal is to promote and support a more just and vibrant community where we all feel we belong and are respected. We hope to be the connective tissue, or a one stop shop, between people of good will who are looking for ways to make positive change and local organizations that need help and support.
