On May 2nd, Redlands City Council will discuss adopting Resolution 8439. This would allow the city to fly the pride flag during pride month in June.

While this is not school specific, our school climate is going to be a reflection of our city’s climate and this absolutely will continue to affect the safety of our LGTBQIA+ students in Redlands. The pride flag flew in Redlands in past years,  this resolution will ensure its future within Redlands.

During the last two council meetings there have been many homophobic and transphobic comments from the public. There are now posts on the City Hall Insta and Facebook where many of the comments are as you might expect also quite bigoted. These posts have picked up steam and are now being shared on social media by many of the agitators we have seen at prior School Board and City Council Meetings with the date of the meeting highlighted indicating they are attempting to attract attendance to this meeting among their hate group circles.
