350 Humboldt is excited to present Ciara Emery, who will describe research she conducted into offshore wind energy development in Humboldt County. She will discuss local perceptions of offshore wind development, as well as potential benefits and concerns, the wind energy development process, and climate change considerations.

This presentation will be of particular interest since the Redwood Coast Energy Authority, the energy supplier for most Humboldt County residents, has committed to supplying all-renewable electricity by 2025. Local wind energy generation is regarded by many as a needed component of an all-renewable energy mix.
