11:00 AM - Meet at Sagamore Park in Teaneck at 11:00 AM. This park just underwent a major renovation with the installation of a stormwater detention tank to help divert flooding that had become routine. This is an example of the kind of project the Climate Superfund Act can help fund to make our communities safer.

11:20 AM - The march will leave Sagamore Park and travel 1.4 miles down Cedar Lane, ending at Johnson Park in Hackensack.

12:00 PM - Rally at Johnson Park in Hackensack - 452 River Street, Hackensack (Corner of River St and Anderson St)

Those who don’t wish to participate in the march can go straight to Johnson Park for the rally.

The Federal Government has been slashing billions in funding for programs across the US designed to make our communities more resilient to the climate crisis. These politically motivated attacks leave states like NJ to fend for ourselves while as the climate crisis brings worse and worse impacts each year, and residents across NJ are paying for it both with our lives and with higher costs each year. This can’t go on.

That's why we're taking to the streets on Saturday November 8th in Hackensack to stand up for our state and call for action to address the climate crisis.

Right now, New Jerseyans have an opportunity to respond to the climate crisis and make NJ safer and more affordable and that's the proposed NJ Climate Superfund Act. This major climate legislation would make the fossil fuel industry pay for the cost of the climate crisis. Our communities are strained under the cost of storm cleanup, climate mitigation, and skyrocketing insurance policies. With this bill NJ can shift these rising costs onto the industry responsible and recoup 50 BILLION dollars to make our communities stronger than the storms ahead.

This bill must pass by the end of the legislative session in January. So we are holding a big march and rally just after the election to call on our legislative leaders and Governor Murphy to prioritize this bill's passage. Our communities can’t afford any less. Join us!
