Apr 24:STAND UP TO SAVE A LIFE: WALMART STORE ACTION!

Start: Wednesday, April 24, 201310:00 AM

On November 24th, 2012, 112 workers were killed in a fire at Tazreen Fashions, a Bangladesh factory that supplied clothing primarily to Walmart. Walmart has not paid one penny of compensation to the victims of the fire. Walmart has also not paid the injured workers who can't afford their hospital bills and families are struggling to put enough food on the table for the children of the workers who died. We are honored to have Sumi Abedin, a Tazreen worker who survived the fire, and Kalpona Akter, the executive director of the Bangladesh Center for Worker Solidarity, in a community rally demanding compensation and that Walmart stop obstructing fire safety efforts in Bangladesh apparel factories. Please join community members and allies to STAND UP to Walmart and demand these workers get the justice they deserve. RSVP or Questions???
