Higher education in the United States is under attack.

American colleges and universities have long been the envy of the world. They provide the freedom to explore the boundaries of human knowledge, to question what we think we know, and to push our country forward. History is littered with moments where these institutions and these freedoms have been attacked with horrifying consequences. The need is urgent! We stand up for science, humanities, literature, mathematics, medicine, research progress, all students, all faculty, all staff, and freedom. We demand university leaders across the nation do the same: unite with peers, publicly, and STAND UP WITH US!

Join us at The Pentacrest on Friday, May 9th at 4:30 PM to ask The University of Iowa leadership to stand up with us--their faculty, staff, and students--in defense of academic freedom, open inquiry, and free expression.

We will be meeting at The Pentacrest and will be joined by local band, One More Hour. Join us at The Green House (505 E Washington St, Iowa City, IA 52240) afterwards to connect, build community, and discuss ways we can mobilize and fight together. We hope to see you there!
