Reale Justice Network's 2026 Annual Reproductive Justice Convening

Reproductive Justice requires more than a statement. It requires us to STAND ON BUSINESS.

This October, Reale Justice Network is bringing together survivors, directly impacted families, organizers, birthworkers, advocates, community health workers, movement leaders, young people, legal workers, artists, healers, and community members for two days of political education, honest conversation, accountability, community care, and collective action.

Together, we will examine the forces controlling our bodies, policing our families, and impacting the safety of our communities—from reproductive criminalization and fetal personhood to Domestic and Intimate Partner Violence, reproductive coercion, family policing, state violence, and qualified immunity.

We will also continue building the National Reproductive Justice Accountability Council, asking what meaningful accountability requires within our movements and how we protect the history, integrity, and political framework of Reproductive Justice.

This is not a convening where we expect you to sit quietly and listen.

Participants will engage in facilitated conversations, survivor-centered exercises, political education, skill-building, community service, reflection, and opportunities to build relationships across movements.

October is nationally recognized as Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and RJN also recognizes October as Reproductive Justice Solidarity Month. We hold these together intentionally because freedom from interpersonal violence, reproductive oppression, family separation, criminalization, and state violence are all necessary to achieve Reproductive Justice.

Reproductive Justice Under Criminalization

Amendment 3, Fetal Personhood & the Policing of Our Families

Beginning with Missouri's Amendment 3, this panel explores the growing intersection of reproductive policy, fetal personhood, criminalization, state power, and the policing of our bodies and families.

Panelists will examine how laws, ballot initiatives, and political narratives can expand surveillance and punishment—particularly for Black, Brown, Indigenous, Trans, disabled, poor, incarcerated, and other marginalized communities.

When does reproductive policy become a tool of punishment? Who gets to define reproductive freedom? And what does Reproductive Justice require from us now?

Day 2 Panel Discussion

Family Policing Is a Reproductive Justice Issue

This panel centers the voices and expertise of people directly impacted by the family policing system. Panelists will share lived experiences and examine how surveillance, investigation, child removal, poverty, domestic violence, racism, disability, and state intervention shape the lives of families.

Together, we will ask: What happens when families seeking support encounter surveillance instead? What do families actually need to be safe and thrive? And what would it mean to resource families rather than police them?

Because the right to parent our children in safe and sustainable communities is fundamental to Reproductive Justice.

Beyond Awareness: Survival, Safety & Reproductive Justice

October is nationally recognized as Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and RJN also recognizes October as Reproductive Justice Solidarity Month. This interactive, survivor-centered session explores Domestic and Intimate Partner Violence as a Reproductive Justice issue, including reproductive coercion, bodily autonomy, economic abuse, disability, LGBTQIA+ experiences, parenting, and the systems survivors encounter when seeking help.

Together, we will move beyond asking “Why don't survivors just leave?” and instead ask: What do survivors actually need to be safe? Do our responses expand their choices or reduce them? And what would it look like to build safety without sacrificing autonomy? No personal disclosure is required to participate.

Safe & Sustainable Communities Require Accountability

State Violence, Qualified Immunity & Reproductive Justice

The right to raise our families in safe and sustainable communities is a core tenet of Reproductive Justice. But what does that right mean when government actors cause harm and families face barriers to holding them accountable?

Leaders from Missouri's campaign to end qualified immunity will connect state violence and government accountability to Reproductive Justice through a brief political grounding and interactive exercise.

Together, we'll ask: Where does state power show up in our lives? What does meaningful accountability look like when that power causes harm? And what must we change to build communities where our families can truly be safe and thrive?

Attendance is limited.
