KNOW YOUR RIGHTS, STAY SAFE, STAND WITH OUR IMMIGRANT NEIGHBORS: A COMMUNITY FORUM

Start: Thursday, January 29, 202605:45 PM

End: Thursday, January 29, 202608:00 PM

Many of us are appalled by the violent targeting of our immigrant neighbors under current federal immigration enforcement policies. And we are heartbroken by the senseless killing of Renée Good on January 8 as she stopped to observe an ICE intervention in her community. What do we need to know, to stay safe in our communities, while standing up for our own Constitutional rights and those of our immigrant neighbors? We invite you to:

· A light informal dinner

· WNC immigration update

· Robert Udashen, Criminal Defense Attorney, will teach us about our basic constitutional rights, should we have an encounter with law enforcement; and best practices to stay safe while protecting our own Constitutional rights and those of our immigrant neighbors

· Practical tools to take home with you

· Initiatives you can join to get more involved

The forum is free. Childcare is provided. The program will be in English. A Spanish-language interpreter will be available.
