Stonewall Action — Time to Act Up
Start: Thursday, March 27, 2025•05:30 PM
End: Thursday, March 27, 2025•07:00 PM
Our rights are under attack and we are being actively erased from our own history. Many in our community are doing good work, but we must go farther. Action was required in 1969 at the Stonewall Inn and action is required right now in Austin. The bricks thrown at Stonewall over 50 years ago must be picked up again.
Stonewall has an answer to the question "What Do We Do Now?" — build community and fight against the wave of fascism washing over America and in our own backyard. We need people with a wide set of skills who are ready to share their time and talents. Creatives, professionals, hobbyists, activists — anyone with the time and intention to make things happen.
Former Austin City Council Member Jimmy Flannigan has been asked to help lead this effort. His leadership as the first openly gay man to serve on Austin City Council, long history as an LGBT community organizer in Austin, and uncompromising progressive values will help put real Action and community building back into the work.
Join Council Member Flannigan, Stonewall President Jessica Cohen, and board members Skyler Korgel and Jeffrey Clemmons on March 27 at Austin's oldest gay bar to pick up your brick and help build a wall against fascism and the erasure of our community.

Sign-in starts at 5:30pm with a short program at 6pm and community to follow
