Block Baerbock's UN Agenda!

Former German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock has now assumed the Presidency of the United Nations' General Assembly. Notoriously, after October 7 she justified Israeli bombing of civilian targets. Baerbock has been instrumental in the European push to support Zionism and NATO expansion. Her election to UNGA president is reflective of the imperialist goal to dismantle international institutions.

Join the DSA International Committee on Sunday, September 21st, 9 am PT / 12 pm ET for a discussion with our movement partners about the failure of the United Nations to impose meaningful pressure on Israel for its ongoing genocide on Gaza; the attempt by imperialist powers to capture international institutions; and ongoing campaigns by Palestinian Youth Movement and Progressive International building pressure from below to push the UN to act.

We will hear from these panelists:

  • Paweł Wargan is an activist, researcher, and organizer serving as Political Coordinator at the Progressive International.

  • Nadya Tannous is a community organizer and the General Coordinator of the Palestinian Youth Movement.

  • Ingar Solty is senior research fellow in foreign, peace, and security policy at the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation’s Institute for Critical Social Analysis in Berlin.

Attendees will also learn how to participate in about actions and campaigns that DSA is supporting, including Progressive International’s campaign to demand Former German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock’s resignation from the UN General Assembly and the Palestinian Youth Movement’s upcoming mass march to the UN on September 26, when Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to speak at the General Assembly.

This event is open to all DSA members in good standing. Please register with the email associated with your DSA membership.
