The challenge of being a college student and a parent can be overlooked and siloed in academic institutions. Come meet fellow undergraduate and graduate student parents as we strategize on the best ways to advocate for policies and practices that best support parenting students in higher education. Topics will include academic accommodations, dependent care, cost of attendance, basic needs support, and current CA state legislative priorities such as AB 2458, the Greater Accessibility Information Notice, and Support for Student Parents (GAINS) Act, which impacts student parent success in California.
